Don CeSar Hotel, St. Petersburg Beach

Don CeSar Hotel is said to be haunted by the ghost of its original owner, Thomas Rowe, who built the Moorish-style "Pink Palace" during 1926. According to the story, Thomas Rowe was forbidden to marry the love of his life, a singer in the opera Maritana by her parents. "Time is infinite. I wait for you by our fountain", she wrote to him on her deathbed, and after his own death, it was reported that they were seen to be meeting by the fountain in the hotel lobby.

St. Augustine Lighthouse, St. Augustine

The 165-foot-tall St. Augustine Lighthouse, which was constructed in 1874, is one of the most legendary but haunted sites in St. Augustine. Few ghosts that linger here include Joseph Andreu, the lighthouse keeper who fell to his death while painting the tower, two young daughters of Hezekiah Pity, who drowned into the bay accidently while playing here. Visitors have reported hearing children’s laughter, footsteps, mysterious voices, and smelled cigar smoke.

Ashley’s, Rockledge

The Tudor-style restaurant and bar, opened in 1934, is said to be haunted by a young woman named Ethel Allen, who was murdered nearby on the shores of the Indian River. Staff and patrons have reported paranormal activities like- lights flickering on and off, objects moving on their own, glasses and dishes breaking mysteriously, burglar alarms setting off randomly, diners being shoved by an unseen force and voices whispering after hours.

Casa Monica Resort & Spa, St. Augustine

Casa Monica Resort & Spa, St. Augustine’s fanciest hotel, is reportedly the most haunted hotel in Florida. Resident ghosts include children playing on 4th floor, a woman in a white dress in Ponce de Leon Suite, a man with child in Flagler Suite and the ghost of a gentleman in 1920’s era clothing likely to be Franklin Smith or Henry Flagler.

East Martello Fort, Key West

East Martello Fort is considered to be haunted by Robert the Doll, a child’s toy that is on display inside the fort. Robert once belonged to a local artist, Robert Eugene Otto. The doll is believed to be possessed and cursed. Visitors confirmed that the doll's facial expression changes inside his glass case. Orbs of light, strange noisy sounds and shadows and other mysterious occurrences have also been reported at the Fort.

Gilbert’s Bar-House of Refuge, Stuart

Located in the coastal town of Stuart, the bar was built in 1876 and housed shipwrecked sailors. Guests have smelled the aroma of beef stew wafting out of the kitchen, which hasn’t been operational since the 1940s.

The Biltmore Hotel, Coral Gables

Biltmore Hotel is said to be haunted by Gangster Thomas “Fatty” Walsh, who was fatally shot over a gambling dispute here in 1929. Visitors had sightings of Fatty’s ghost hanging around, mysteriously shaking glasses at the bar, chasing good-looking women, appearing in bathroom mirrors, opening doors and staying particularly close to the 13th floor, where he was killed.

The Plaza Resort & Spa, Daytona Beach

The Plaza Resort & Spa’s original building was destroyed by fire in 1909. Staff attest the sightings of ghosts of victims caught in the blaze, including a little girl who now spends her nights messing with the elevators and raiding the restaurant kitchen. In 2013, investigators found a shape-shifting ghost roaming the hotel’s Veranda Bar & Grille.

Tampa Theatre, Downtown Tampa

Opened in 1926, historic U.S. theater and city landmark, is said to be haunted by a man who worked the film projector back during the days when it was a movie theatre. Man said to have died of a heart attack during a film showing up in the booth. It seems his spirit never left the theatre and he still has the best seat in the house.

I-4 Dead Zone, Sanford

The I-4 "Dead Zone" is located in Sanford, just before the St. Johns River Bridge. According to legend, Sanford was a small Roman Catholic colony called St Joseph's. A German family of four died in Yellow Fever and was buried there. In 1959, Interstate 4 was paved right over and through these graves. Between 1995 and 1997, there were 44 crashes reported here injuring at least 65 people. Incidents like malfunction of electronic devices, hitchhikers appearing and quickly disappearing and a series of brutal storms have been reported in this dead zone.
